Ryan with his first agility ribbons and his first agility title (novice Fast) January 1, 2012 Ryan loves agility and is a blast to train. He is very enthusiastic and loves the game. He really loves the wood obstacles (a-frame, dog walk and teeter) and also loves the weaves. He is still pretty young so he can be goofy at times but it's always very fun to train him. I just love his heart and his willingness to give everything his all. For his size, he is very nimble and light on his feet. He is also pretty fast and I think his speed will only pick up as he gains more and more confidence and we come together as a team. Ryan made his agility debut at the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club trial New Year's weekend (December 30 - January 1, 2012). I ran him in novice Fast only to see how he would handle the trial ring environment and to have fun. Ryan had a great weekend. He held beautiful start lines, did great on his contacts and ran with lots of speed and joy. He couldn't believe he actually got to run on the first day and on the second, he got it all figured out and ran with tons of gusto. His best run was on Sunday, the last run of the weekend when he did everything smoothly and fast. He far exceeded my expectations by qualifying all 3 days and earning his first agility title, novice Fast. What a way to start the new year. At Ryan's next trial (Lexington, VA January 13-15, 2012), he got an open Fast leg the first time running in the class. Ryan went on to earn his open FAST title on February 12, 2012. He made his debut in novice jumpers with weaves the weekend of January 13-15, 2012 and he earned his first leg on Sunday, January 15th. He completed his title by earning two novices legs the weekend of February 4-5, 2012. Ryan earned his 2nd Open JWW leg on March 17, 2012. Ryan earned his Open JWW title on Saturday, March 24, 2012 with a beautiful run. Ryan earned his first two excellent A JWW legs the weekend of April 7 & 8, 2012. Ryan earned his excellent agility title (AXJ) on his 2nd birthday, April 29, 2012. He had a beautiful 1st place run. Ryan made his novice standard debut on January 29, 2012 in State College, PA and he qualified with a first place. Ryan earned his second novice standard leg on February 4, 2012. Ryan finished his novice standard title on February 11, 2012 with a beautiful 1st place run. Ryan earned his first Open standard qualifying run on February 17, 2012. He earned his second Open leg on March 11, 2012. Ryan earned his Open standard title on Sunday, March 25, 2012 with a clean run and first place. Ryan has 3 legs and 26 points towards his Time to Beat title. Here are a few videos of Ryan running agility. Two videos are of Ryan when he made his agility debut December 30-31, 2011. The other is him earning his AXJ on April 29, 2012. Ryan's AXJ title run - Sunday, April 29, 2012 |
