Ryan - Best of Winners at the Maryland Sporting Dog Association shows on March 3, 2012
Conformationally, Ryan is well balanced, has beautiful angulation, and has lots of bone. He has a beautiful head, nice length of neck, and low set and long ears. He has a nice tail set and carriage. He has lots of dark coat, it is thick and crisp curls all over. Ryan has beautiful movement and it amazes me how effortlessly he moves for such a young boy. He has good proportions. For his age, he already has nice rib spring and it will continue to come in time. He is 24 inches high at the shoulders.
Ryan made his big dog show debut at the IWSCA supported entry at the Maryland Sporting Dog Association show on March 4, 2011. He showed beautifully and moved effortlessly. He got reserve winner's dog and best puppy. He had a blast in the puppy sporting group and he thought the whole experience was great fun. So much so he was very eager to get back into the ring on Sunday. Ryan showed again at the Nebraska Kennel Club shows July 16-17, 2011. He won Best of Breed/Best of Winners both days for 2 points each day. He loves the show ring! He really loves the photographers. They throw toys to get the dogs attention and he is sure the photographer needs him to retrieve them. Ryan won Best of Breed/Winner's dog on Saturday, January 21st at the Carroll County show and he won Winner's dog on Sunday, January 22nd at the Annapolis Kennel Club show for 2 more points. Ryan won Winner's Dog/Best of Winner's at the IWSCA supported entry on Saturday, March 3, 2012 for a 4-point major. It was a beautiful entry and I was so proud of him. Ryan won Winner's Dog at the Old Dominion Kennel Club show on Saturday, April 21, 2012 for 2 points. He moved beautifully and stood like a rock for his exam. Now all we need is that last major to finish.
Ryan showed beautiful at the 2012 IWS national specialty. This was his first specialty and he won 2nd place in the Open class. The boy who won first went on to earn winner's dog/best of winners. Ryan moved beautifully. He is figuring it out that the show ring is not a race.
